How to Get More Bathroom and Kitchen Jobs Without Paying Per Lead

The fitters who stay booked up aren’t buying more leads. They’re making every finished job do the selling for the next one.

Bathrooms and kitchens are bought slowly and nervously. A homeowner about to spend £15,000 will look at three or four firms, read every review, and ask each one for examples. The firm that makes that decision easy usually wins — and it’s rarely the cheapest.

Here’s where to put your effort instead of another lead subscription.

1. Make every finished job visible

Your last ten jobs are your best salespeople, and most of them are sitting in your camera roll. Write each one up properly: the before, the problem, what you did, the finish. Put it on your website and your Google profile. When a homeowner asks “can you send me some examples?”, you send a link — not a scroll through your phone.

2. Treat your Google Business Profile like a shop window

When someone searches “bathroom fitter near me”, the map results come first. A complete profile with recent photos, a post about last week’s job and replied-to reviews looks like a firm that’s busy and cares. A profile with three photos from 2021 looks like the opposite.

3. Ask for the review on handover day

The best moment to ask is when the homeowner is standing in their new bathroom saying “it’s lovely”. Have a short link ready to send by text before you leave the drive. Reply to every review — good or bad — within a couple of days.

4. Name the towns you actually cover

“Bathroom fitting in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury” on your site and profile helps Google match you to local searches. Better still, name the town on each finished job: “Wet room, Leckhampton.”

5. Stay in touch with past customers

The people who already bought a bathroom from you know people about to buy one. A short note once or twice a year — “here’s a kitchen we’ve just finished nearby” — keeps your name at the front of their mind when a friend asks for a recommendation.

6. Show roughly what it costs

“Most of our bathrooms come in between £9,000 and £16,000” filters out the people who were never going to pay, and reassures the ones who were. See our piece on showing prices online.

None of this is a one-off

Every job you write up, every review you reply to, every post on your profile stacks on the last one. After a year it adds up to something no competitor can buy — and nothing you lose if you stop paying.
